Scandal Note 7 will not affect Samsung in the long term, says … – the Journal BIT, computers for all.

The research from the consulting firm was made soon after the announcement of the recall total and the end of the production of the Note 7. Covered three groups of consumers: those who already own Samsung smartphones, those that had a mobile phone of the brand in the past and others that have never had a smartphone from the company.

"Although the recall of the Note 7 has been challenging for Samsung, the data from this survey indicate that the majority of consumers do not feel affected, which is good news for the company", explains the director of research, Ramon Llamas. Yes, there is, a minority of customers who will not want to buy back Samsung smartphones in the future, and so the brand has to try to regain his confidence. "At the moment, Samsung has offered monetary incentives, but, in the background, consumers want to understand the causes of the problem and how they intend to resolve them."

Among the findings the most interesting of the study are the following:

  • Half of the clients of Note 7 respondents (a small portion of the total) said that they have already chosen or will choose an Apple iPhone to replace your smartphone. 17% said they would choose another Samsung mobile. The majority want to return the smartphone damaged in a physical store.
  • The recall of the Note 7 does not seem to be affecting the Samsung brand in general. The majority of respondents said that it would not impact the future decisions of purchase the company’s other products, such as televisions.
  • The perception of the shares of Samsung in response to the issue was neutral or positive. Surprisingly, 13% of respondents did not know even what that was.

"The recall of the Note 7, and its repercussions, represents a significant event in the world of consumer electronics," points out the director of research of cellular Anthony Scarsella. "Although the recall may have had an adverse impact on the brand in the short term, the truth is that Samsung continues to be the leader of the global smartphone market," he stresses. The company will have to bury this issue quickly and focus their efforts in the production of a Galaxy S8 "stellar," says the analyst.

"If it is successful, consumers will quickly forget the fiasco of Note 7, if the S8 have the ability to deliver on all fronts."
