Half of the users of the Note 7 want to trade it for a iPhone – SAPO Tek

Samsung has put an "end point" to the production of the Galaxy Note 7 on the 11th of October. With this phablet, the technology intended to grow its share in the market of mobile devices, but the shot left him backfired when several users have reported explosions related to the overheating of lithium-ion batteries of mobile phones.

A recent study published by IDC, which covered users of the current Galaxy Note 7, well people who have already had this phone and others that have devices from other brands, reflects that, in war, the spoils are not left "to the god-give".

Almost half of consumers addressed concerns that already have or will purchase a smartphone from Apple in replacement of your Galaxy Note 7. Only 17% showed to be willing to buy another phone from Samsung.

Still, the largest part of the respondents states that want to deliver their Note 7 in a physical store of your carrier.

Cited by site Gadgets Now, the analyst of KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo points out that, after all the events in controversy that surrounded the Note 7, the Apple should not have much difficulty in soliciting consumers for the iOS of Force".

Despite these setbacks, the vast majority of users questioned said that problems with the Note 7 will not do with that they will buy other products from Samsung, such as household appliances and televisions.

according To Tom Mainelli, vice-president of the devices of the CPI, the consumers consider that the response of Samsung in relation to the problems of the Galaxy Note 7 was quick and effective, and believe that the company will be able to recover from this episode the least happy of his history.

Recall from Note 7 knocks down sales and profit of Samsung in the … – Computerworld

Samsung has announced a 15% fall in sales of its divisions of the IT and mobile communications of the quarter July-September, compared to the same period last year, reaching $ 22.5 trillion Korean won (or US$ 19,8 billion). The operating profit in these areas plummeted by 95%, to 100 billion Korean won.

The total revenue of the company declined 7% in comparison with the same quarter in 2015, to 48 trillion won and net profit of 17%, to 4.5 trillion won. The sales of electronic products fell by 5%, but profits more than doubled in this segment due to the high demand for 4K tvs and high-end applications for the home.

The problems with the Note 7 began to affect sales soon after its release, in mid-August. At the beginning of September, the reports of which several units had incediado did with that Samsung began a costly program of recall and replacement. When it became clear that the equipment replacements had the same problem, the company withdrew the model from the market permanently.

Perhaps surprisingly, Samsung reported that it did not register a significant effect during the quarter in sales of its two other high-end models, the Galaxy S7 and S7 the Edge, but admitted that "recovering consumer confidence" will be a goal crucial in the coming months.

For the current quarter, which covers the period key sales year-end, the company intends to recover normal levels of profitability in the division for the smartphone, due to the consistent sales of the two premium models and the growth of the demand of the devices of the middle range of the series Galaxy A and J.

"as far As 2017, the company anticipates a turn with the release of these two new smartphones state-of-the-line (flagship)," he said in an official note. "We will also see the expansion of the platform of mobile payment Samsung Pay, and the services associated with the cloud computing, as well as the new offerings related to artificial intelligence."

The costs of the recall of the Note 7 will continue to press the company for at least this quarter and the first of 2017.

Five years ago, the “brick” Galaxy Note gave beginning to a line of … – Tudocelular.com

On the 29th of October, five years ago, Samsung gave the start to the sales of the first Galaxy Note. It seems a little strange to celebrate the date after the events that ended up putting an end to the short life of the Note 7, but still let’s remember how it all began.

The year is 2010. The smartphones are still in the early days, and are manufactured in small screens. The market wanted to offer small computers that he could fit in virtually all pockets. But a device has attempted to break this pattern.

no, that was Not the Galaxy Note. The first phablet to see the light of day was manufactured by Dell. Called Streak, the device was a failure, but it had sparkle enough to draw the attention of an executive from Samsung.

The 5 inch screen pleased, and he decided to ask a team of research and development of the company to produce a smartphone with a big screen for him. But he made a request to most, that the Streak did not: he wanted a kind of pen to be able to draw on the screen of the phablet.

Without being able to question the boss, the team began to think about how to respond to that request so unusual. At that time, any mobile phone with screen larger than 5 inches was automatically called "brick".

As he received a short period of time, and time was running out, the team decided to choose the least worst among those that were developed and built a prototype, which was presented to the executive. Interestingly enough, he loved it. And, more strange still, he decided to send manufacturing on a large scale.

Then, in 2011, the Galaxy Note was introduced to the world. Despite all the evidence pointing to a failure before the launch, the phablet of 5.3 inch, sold no less than 5 million copies in the first three months. If it was luck or vision of the future, we will never know exactly.

of Course, today, a smartphone of 5 inches is considered normal. Phablets have above 6 inches. But there is still a portion of users that want screens between 4 and 4.5 inches. It will be that, in the future, will be called miniphones?

Finally, the Galaxy Note was followed by five successors since then: the Note II, Note 3, Note 4, Note 5 and, finally, the explosive Note 7. Samsung hinted that there will be a Note 8, so let’s wait to see what happens.

because, after the events of this year, it is possible that a lot of people avoid buying a new phablet of the company. If is that Samsung is not going to lose a lot of consumer trembling with the explosion of any other of their devices – that is happening, but seem to be isolated cases.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is not yet available in stores in brazil. To be notified when it arrives .

Xiaomi ‘Mi Note 2′ and ‘Mi Mix’ will not be sold outside of China … – Tudocelular.com

With the launch of Mi Note 2 and Im Mix a few hours ago (1, 2), Xiaomi showed the world two new handsets top of the line, which left even those who are not fans of the company’s jaws dropped.

The Im Mix in particular, which looks like a device prototype with its futuristic design that brings an advantage to the front absurdly high, with a screen of end-to-end that he needed to relocate some components in the front.

As always, the company has maintained its philosophy of low prices, which made enthusiasts around the world, “shiver” to put their hands on one of these, but apparently, that won’t happen (at least, officially).

recent Statements given by the representatives of Xiaomi claim that both the Note 2 as the Im Mix that will be sold exclusively in China, as are devices positioned to the public “enthusiastic” chinese.

In a topic posted on the forum Reddit, the Head of Product “Jai Mani” of the Xiaomi India reported that due to the limited amount and design “eccentric”, both devices will not be sold in other parts of the world.

In the words of Mani, both served to show that the appliances are functional, but still not pass enough security to the company in terms of “interest” and “usability” to other markets.

Mani also spoke that “certifications and services post-sales” were other additional reasons for the unit not to be released in other regions.

“sales and certifications are the reasons primary. The delay in shipments and the costs are another small detail. I believe that there are ways of dealing with these problems, how to anticipate inventory and support, but we are not certain about how we will do it.”

Requirements in relation to naming and the limitations imposed by various markets in relation to the SAR values (Specific Absortion Rate) and local prices are also part of the extensive list of obstacles.

Another detail is that the line Note from Xiaomi is not prepared for a large volume of sales as, for example, your main line, the Mi 5s and 5s Plus. The presence of the newly launched phablets around the world could end “canibalizando” the sales of these devices.

For us brazilians, this will not represent a hindrance, seeing that the company no longer releases more of the devices here, and that anyway, we would have to end up appealing to import to get them.
