The Samsung is going to launch on the 19th an update of software that makes the Galaxy Note 7 americans unusable. These devices will be prevented from connecting to mobile networks, and charge the battery.
In the first phase, this change will be released in the United states, but it is expected to arrive in all western countries until the end of the year.
"This update of the software will prevent the Galaxy Note 7 americans can be loaded and which function as mobile devices," says Samsung in a press release, in the site official. “In conjunction with the mobile operators, we will notify our customers to encourage them to participate in our program [of returns], and take advantage of the financial incentives available,” it reads.
Samsung had already placed restrictions on the use of this model in the us, preventing you from loading more than 60% of the total capacity of the battery.
The giant south Korean is promoting a program of return of these devices, allowing the exchange for other products from Samsung (similar to what already happens in Portugal). These devices have been deemed unsafe after several reports of overheating and explosion of the batteries. The manufacture of this model is suspended since October.
