Design of the Galaxy Note 7 is the ‘culprit’ of the explosions? – News up to the Minute (press release)

The Samsung still has not commented officially about the cause of the explosions from the Galaxy Note but this does not prevent that other entities are willing to risk as to what was the origin of the malfunction of the battery.

PUB

Account Cnet that the Instrumental dismounted the Note 7 to do an analysis of the construction of the device and, as a result, points to the design of the battery as the reason for the explosion of the smartphone. Apparently, the thickness of the battery was too thin to take into account the need for expansion when it is fully charged, which increased the odds of this explode.

"Looking at the design, the engineers at Samsung have tried to clearly balance the risk of a process of manufacturing super-aggressive to maximize capacity while trying to protect [the battery] internally]. Samsung took a step deliberate in the direction of the hazard and its infrastructure testing and validation process design have failed you", can be read in the considerations of the Instrumental.
