Samsung also already ensures exchanges of the Galaxy Note 7 in Portugal – SAPO Tek

Even today the marketing director of Samsung Europe had stated that by the end of November the new Galaxy Note 7 should go back to the circuit of sales, but that the normalization of the distribution should extend to 2017 in the Old Continent, due to the impact of the collection of 2.5 million smartphones.

The TeK contacted Samsung Portugal, operators and shops, and managed to ascertain that the trade-offs in Portugal are also already happening since this Monday, the 19th day of September, but that priority was given to customers who had already received the Note 7 after the pre-sales.

“we are Not able to reset all the equipment this week, you must be in a phased manner”, explained the source of the company to the TeK, ensuring that the company is committed to first satisfy all the requests of the customers who made pre-purchases, which, as we have already given account, sold out in Portugal.

it is recalled that the company had to mount a pickup operation after several reports of explosion of the batteries of the new phablet, announced in August, and generated financial losses raised to the Samsung, damage to the reputation of the company and led to several warnings until of air carriers, including the TAP.

Source from Samsung in Portugal has confirmed to the TeK that is being studied a form of contact with all clients and that will be made “all efforts” to meet the requests and resume the confidence of consumers.

asked about if some of the customers who pre-purchase may no longer want to receive the smartphones, and demand other compensations to the amount paid, the same source says he has no knowledge of any case.

This week, Samsung has issued a software update that urges the users of Galaxy Note 7 with batteries is potentially dangerous to turn off the device. In addition, and as a "better safe than sorry", this update limited the battery charge to 60%, but this limit will already have been reset to 80%.
