Factory of batteries of Galaxy Note 7 that exploded catches fire in the … – Globo.com

Firefighters from the city of Tianjin, in northern China, had to tackle a fire in a local factory that produced the batteries for the Galaxy Note 7 on Wednesday (8). The cell was made famous last year by several cases of explosions and fires caused by problems in the battery.

The fire occurred at the factory of Samsung SDI, an arm of Samsung, and affected li-ion battery and other products not terminated, said the newspaper “South China Morning Post”, which clarified that the fire was extinguished quickly and caused the wounded.

Images from witnesses posted on social networks showed columns of smoke coming out of the factory, while the responsible of Samsung spoke to the press that the fire had affected a deposit of materials to be despised, not the production lines.

Samsung SDI is one of two firms that supply the Samsung battery for Galaxy Note 7, product that had to be removed on the whole world by the company’s south Korean due to several cases of fires and explosions.
