Samsung started upgrading the Galaxy Note 4 to the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop in July. The company has come broadening the release of firmware for other countries, but no word was given about when the novelty come here. On Thursday (22), users of MS-N910C model began to get the message that you can see in the picture below, stating that the new software was ready to be released over the air.
As can be seen, the news is being released to users over the air with full size 627,88MB. Changes in the system list is informed that the update will bring Lollipop 5.1.1 for the model, in addition to improving the notification system leaving them more accessible to the user. The company also reports that several security updates were done, perhaps to fix the big problem with stagefright. Samsung also promises a better user experience while delivering a more rapid and stable interface.
If you are using some alternative ROM or have performed root access on your smartphone, you can install the new version of the system manually via ODIN tool. To do this, simply download the ROM file on the Samsung Updates Web site and follow the steps below:
- Download the ODIN 3:09
- Unzip the ODIN and the ROM file you downloaded
- Run the application on your PC
- Restart your Note 4 in Download mode (connect the cell holding the Home button + Power + Volume Less at once)
- Connect your smartphone to your PC and wait for the ODIN recognize it
- Add the firmware in the AP Section / PDA
- Make sure that the Re-Partition option is not selected
- Click on Start and wait for the ROM to be installed
The first boot may take a while. After this it is recommended to make a cleaning of the system (factory reset) to ensure that no bugs remain to update. If this is necessary, back up your files because everything will be deleted
