Samsung starts production of flexible displays for variants of the Galaxy … – Tudocelular.com

Samsung has demonstrated its great interest in curved screens to launch the Note Edge last year, which despite being a curious device, just not calling the attention of many. When betting on something less exotic with the S6 Edge, the company finally got the attention they wanted and the proof of this were the numerous accolades made by international critics who have chosen the curve version of the Galaxy S6 as the most interesting product announced in Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015) .

This good reception eventually forced Samsung to triple the number of production curved screens for S6 Edge, being necessary to partner with S MAC to complement production in the manufacture of some thousands of panels to South Korea. However, Samsung’s own plans to expand their factories to take care of this high demand, so informs a source of South Korea.

According to ETNews , Samsung claims that is currently producing 8 million curved panels for the Galaxy S7 , which will be released in early 2016. Currently the company has been making great investment to expand glass production polyimide, a polymer widely used for the production of flexible OLED screens. Unfortunately, it is not easy to work with these materials and the Samsung is still trying to find a way to meet the demand. Thus, South Korea seeks to reshape the manufacturing process until August, so that everything is ready for when your new flagship is going into mass production.

“The expansion is inevitable, it was announced that Samsung Electronics has asked 8 million flexible panels per month for the Galaxy S7,” an unidentified official would have been informed.

Samsung also plans to use the new in Galaxy Note Edge 2 , the curved screen variant of the Galaxy Note 5 , which will be presented in September during IFA 2015 . Perhaps this generation of the screen curvature is more pronounced due to changes in manufacturing process and also used in the new components. However, completely flexible and even foldable smartphones can still take a while to reach the market.
