Samsung Galaxy Note 2: What to Expect After Android 4.3 - Gotta Be Mobile

All eyes are currently on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, an update que continues to roll out in the United States and around the world, bringing Samsung Galaxy Gear KNOX and support along with it. However, we have our eye to the future and here, we want to take a look at what Galaxy Note 2 Should users expect after the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update rolls in October

Back in July, Google Announced Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, an update que expresso some incremental upgrades and enhancements to Nexus owners. At the team’s many flagship devices had not even been updated to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, leaving many to wonder how the future would play in October

For Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users, it meant a long wait for a major update to Samsung Decided to skip Android 4.2 Jelly Bean in support of the Bluetooth Low Energy enhanced Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Bluetooth LE is important for Samsung’s Galaxy ace Gear, a watch-like accessory que syncs with the Galaxy Note Galaxy 2 and other devices via Bluetooth.

December Could bring the Galaxy Note Android 4.3 update 2 release in some regions, with Galaxy Note 3 features.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean did not start rolling out to the Galaxy Note 2 immediately, however. Users had to wait a few weeks for Samsung and its various carriers to get Their act together. A few days ago, we saw the software roll out to the international version of the device and just a short time ago, the Sprint Galaxy Note 2 Became the first to get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The other 2 Galaxy Note Android 4.3 updates are close and we expect Them to be delivered before the end of the year.

After a few weeks, the nostalgia will wear off and Galaxy Note 2 owners will once again be looking toward the future, wondering what might be in the store for Them. Signs currently point to Android 4.4 KitKat being the next update for the Galaxy Note 2, an update que has already emerged for several devices including the Moto X.

With

que in mind, it’s time to take a look at what we think comes next for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, after the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.

Galaxy Note 2 to Android 4.3 Problems Linger

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is Rolling Out slowly, Particularly in the United States where the roll out has very limited. While we have not heard about any catastrophic issues with the Sprint Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, we have been hearing about issues with other Galaxy Note 2 variants including complaints about battery life and slow charging.

update software is perfect so we fully expect the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 updates in the U.S. and elsewhere to come with some issues. Problem is, this is an Android device that means que bug fix updates will not come fast or easy. Samsung will need to work with carriers to develop and test any bug fix update to Android 4.3 Which will take some team.

So, Those Who Are Experiencing issues with Android 4.3 on the Galaxy Note 2, Likely will have to wait a few weeks, if not a few months, is an Android 4.3 bug fix update to arrive.

One More Android 4.3 Update

Users Should expect the Galaxy Note 2 to get an update before its next major upgrade. Often carriers and Samsung will roll out bug fix updates in the weeks before a major upgrade to prepare the device for the next major piece of software and that’s what we expect here. We expect to see Galaxy Note 2 models get an incremental update in the next couple of months, Aimed at tackling any lingering issues inside of Android 4.3.

We can not speak to what Those issues will be, all devices and users are different, but Samsung and its carriers Their Should the best to push out updates ahead of the Android 4.4 update that is KitKat rumored to be arriving sometime before the end of April.

Android 4.4 KitKat, At Least

KitKat is not confirmed Android 4.4 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 but it’s Likely. The device is only a year old and marked its first Android 4.3 Android upgrade major. So, we que doubt Samsung is going to stop there. Instead, cornichons see Android 4.4 roll out KitKat, barring any delays or issues, sometime in 2014, perhaps in the first half of the year. And here’s where it gets confusing.

android_kitkat

We think the Galaxy S3 stops on Android 4.4 KitKat. It’s turning old and two years old eats May. Google does not recommend updates past 18 months of service so we highly doubt That It gets anything past Android 4.4. The Galaxy Note 2 is younger than the Galaxy S3 and it arrived with stock Android 4.2. The Galaxy S3 with Android 4.0 arrived. The Galaxy Note Also has 2 more horsepower, quad-core processor, the Galaxy S3 que something does not have.

Yes, the device will be turning two, but not until September of this year. Galaxy Note 2 users can expect Android 4.4 KitKat, that’s a sure thing, and we would not be surprised if the Galaxy Note 2 got one more update. Expect one major update, hope for two.

Same

Update Process

Whatever lies ahead

Should come with the same update process que’ve seen from Samsung team and time again. For those que que aren’t clear on what entails, here is a rundown of what to expect in the build up to the next major release Which is almost certainly going to be the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 update KitKat:

  1. Early rumors about the release window. This has already happened and the update is rumored to be coming by the end of April.
  2. In the weeks after the release date leak Substantial That All but Confirms Samsung’s plans and nails further down the window.
  3. Galaxy Note Android 4.4 2 KitKat leak, que to sign the update is getting closer.
  4. All the while, there will be zero communication from Samsung or the carriers que host the Galaxy Note 2.
  5. As we push deeper into 2014, Samsung will finally confirm the update When its weeks away.
  6. Another update

  7. leak, this one Should be close to the end version.
  8. International

  9. 2 Galaxy Note Android 4.4 update will roll KitKat October
  10. U.S. Galaxy Note 2 variants will follow.

That’s what we expect and we would be surprised if the roll out process in October played any differently. Samsung is a creature of habit and we expect a similar upgrade process for Android 4.4 KitKat and beyond.

Issues, Again

Again, even the most stable Android updates Likely will not be safe from bugs. For the most part, the Android 4.4 update KitKat has been playing nice with Nexus devices. In the past, we’ve seen the initial experience get plagued by bugs so this is a good sign. Nexus devices aren’t Samsung devices though and They do not have complicated TouchWiz software on board.

Google’s apparently did not play nice with Android 4.2 software and it’s clear That It’s not playing nice with Android 4.3. So, we suspect que Galaxy Note 2 users will run into some issues once the Android 4.4 update arrives KitKat. Same goes for any updates after it. So, users will simply want to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

The Fresh

Device

In 2014 cornichons see Samsung make some major upgrades to the Galaxy Note 2′s software. That means features from Android 4.4 KitKat, as well as enhancements to the device’s TouchWiz software. Samsung’s major updates Typically come with enhancements and fixes on board and we expect to see the same from any arriving updates in 2014. With the Samsung Galaxy S5 due in October next year, We Could see some features deliver Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to its users.

Point is, expect the software experience on the Galaxy Note 2 to Improve in 2014 and hopefully make the device feel like a new phone. The company has been successful with this in the past and it’s the reason why people will continue to buy these phones. Samsung is simply able to deliver a solid experience throughout the duration of the contract. Look for additions to the TouchWiz to do something similar next year.
