Still missing two months for the arrival of the next Galaxy Note to the market, rumors do not stop to emerge revealing what we can expect from the new South Korean phablet. The latest news reinforces the presence of an iris reader in the device. But what many are interested in knowing, in fact, is what the chipset to be used by Samsung. It is true that the Galaxy Note 7 will come in two versions: one with Snapdragon and one with Exynos. But what are the models chosen by the company?
Several websites are betting on Snapdragon 823 as the choice to represent the side of Qualcomm. The same chipset is being considered for other devices, such as a turbocharged version of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, but Qualcomm failed to confirm the existence of it. A promotional material even came to deny this rumor, stating that this turbocharged variant will come with Snapdragon chipset 821. And it seems that the same will happen with the Galaxy Note 7.
Now a new rumor claims that Snapdragon 823 only hit the market in September. The Galaxy Note 7, on the other hand, will premiere considered for early August, which ends up discarding the possibility of seeing this chipset from Qualcomm in Samsung’s phablet. Thus, bets fall upon Snapdragon 821, a slightly improved version of the current line of the top chip company.
Still no official details of the Snapdragon 823, it was speculated that this would bring a gain of 18% in performance on Snapdragon 820. But the 821 model, said with maximum speed of 2.3 GHz, should add only 10% in overall performance. Samsung should make improvements in the manufacturing process, which should help reduce consumption and heating. Thus, the Galaxy Note 7 should give a small performance gain without increasing energy consumption, compared to the Galaxy S7.
We expect the company to do the same with the Exynos 8890, performing a small overclock to even both options Galaxy Note 7. the other specifications should be equal in two variants: 5.8-inch Quad HD display, 6GB of RAM, optional with up to 256 GB of storage, 4000 mAh battery and Android 6.0.1 marshmallow – it seems that Android N will not be ready in time. We can consider this alleged Galaxy Note 7 a considerable upgrade over the Galaxy S7?
