all the way back in July of last year, the Google Announced Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, an update que Replaced Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and ushered in the Nexus 7, 2013 was on the Google Play Store. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, Like Android 4.2 Jelly Bean was, and still is, Considered to be an incremental update. In other words, it does not bring any major changes to the Android operating system.
Google started rolling out the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to Nexus users back in July and throughout 2013 we saw other devices receive the upgrade to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Four of the devices que started receiving the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update last year were the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note and the Samsung 2. The Galaxy Nexus’ Began roll out in July while the Galaxy S4 update saw its start in October with the other two updates starting in November. In other words, it has been several months since these updates first started rolling in October
There are, However, some updates que have yet to arrive. Some have been delayed, others have simply been neglected. And there is still one major Android 4.3 update que while seemingly confirmed, remains missing in action completely.
We’ve seen a couple of updates in recent days, so we want to take yet another look at the Galaxy Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update situation in an effort to inform S4 Galaxy, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, and Galaxy Nexus users who are still looking for the update to arrive.
Samsung Galaxy S4
The Majority of Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates have rolled October That much is clear. However, there are at least two Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 updates que remain at large, even to the Galaxy S4 KitKat Android 4.4 update begins to push to more devices.
Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update roll out finished up last year in the United States. So it was not surprising to see the Sprint Galaxy S4 get Android 4.4 earlier this week. What is surprising though is there are still some que Galaxy S4 models without Android 4.3 Jelly Bean at this point.
Two queupdates we’ve been tracking Those are for Telstra and Optus Australia, another carrier in Australia. Telstra has yet to receive the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update from Samsung Which means it has not even que Entered the testing process yet. It currently lists an expected release date of March 17th. That’s more than a month from now.
Optus is in a similar boat. The carrier originally expected the update to land in February but now it says que thanks to a critical issue, it will either roll out in late February or early March. No date provided.
We have not been able to track down information for other updates Galaxy S4 so it’s unclear how many other Android 4.3 upgrades are left.
Samsung Galaxy S3
The Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note Android 4.4 2 KitKat updates are rumored for March or April and from the looks of things, We Could see most, if not all Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates deployed by the team They arrive.
Samsung is making progress with its Android 4.3 Jelly Bean roll out and SamMobile’s Firmware tracker Suggests That the company has shifted its attention to regions in Africa and the Middle East. But what about the updates que have yet to roll out
Well, Telstra claims its que update is in testing and its que scheduled to deploy in and around March 3rd. Remember, these dates are tentative and can change depending on how well They perform in the lab. Vodafone Australia is in a similar stage as it claims que the update is still being probed before its arrival.
The only otherGalaxy S3 Android 4.3 update information que’ve found comes from Optus. Optus claims que they’ve approved the update for release and That It will be touching down in the coming weeks. The carrier does not provide a specific release date to its users que Which means the update Could arrive at any point.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2
From the looks of things, the bulk Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates have rolled October Most recently, the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update landed for users in Hong Kong and Taiwan and on Vodafone in New Zealand. Those updates rolled all out earlier this month.
If there are remaining updates, we have not been able to track Them down so it will be up to Galaxy Note 2 owners to contact Their carrier in an effort to draw information in October.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Despite a petition from Galaxy Nexus owners, Google has yet to release the Galaxy Nexus Android 4.4 update KitKat and at this point, it Likely never will. That means que Those who do not root and unlock Their Galaxy Nexus will be stuck on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean forever.
Sadly, not everyone is on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean quite yet. In fact, there are at least two Galaxy Nexus Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates on the way and at least one that remains out of reach.
The two incoming Galaxy Nexus Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates are from Telstra and Vodafone, both based in Australia. Telstra claims the que update is currently in testing, odd Given how old is Android 4.3, and it out in. Should be around February 25th and if testing goes well. Telstra’s dates are target dates and depend on quality results.
Vodafone’s Galaxy Nexus Android 4.3 update and it passed testing Appears That It’s ready to roll in October It’s not clear When the roll out will update soon though it Should be Given que que the carrier says it’s awaiting its roll in October Also que Optus says it has approved its Galaxy Nexus update and it will roll out soon as well.
This is all good news for Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners who are still without Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or any sign from Verizon. Verizon does not issue its schedules for updates. The carrier did tell Gotta Be Mobile que the update is still coming but it made no promises about its release date. Given these updates que remain unreleased, it’s still possible que we’ll see it emerge at some point down the road.
