Root Galaxy Note N7100 2 on Official Android 4.1.2 Firmware XXDMG1 Jelly Bean

Samsung recently rolled out the latest Android 4.1.2 over-the-air (OTA) update, with build number N7100XXDMG1, for the international variant of the Galaxy Note 2 with model number GT-N7100. The latest official Jelly Bean firmware can now be rooted on the Note 2 via the CF-Auto-Root tool released by XDA Recognised developer, Chainfire.

Users who already have updated device with Their XXDMG1 Android 4.1.2 official firmware can root the devices using this tutorial.

Pre-Requisites

  • The CF-Auto-Root tool and Given rooting method work with Galaxy Note GT-N7100 2 only. Attempting to install this firmware on incompatible devices may damage brick or device. Verify device model number by navigating to Settings> About Phone.
  • Necessary
  • Download and install USB drivers for phone on computer
  • Enable USB debugging mode on phone by navigating to Settings> DeveloperOptions
  • Backup important data and settings on phone via ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery or TWRP
  • Ensure phone is factory unlocked , as is its bootloader
  • Ensure phone has at least 80% battery charge to Prevent unexpected device shutdown (due to battery drain) During firmware installation

How to Root 2 N7100 Galaxy Note on Android 4.1.2 Official Firmware XXDMG1 Jelly Bean


Step 1 : Extract CF-Auto-Root and Odin 3:07 zip files using winrar or winzip or 7zip and copy files to computer desktop

Step 2 : Power off phone and boot into Download mode by pressing and holding Volume Down Home and Power Android buttons until construction robot icon with warning triangle Appears onscreen. Now press Volume Up to enter Download mode

Step 3 : Launch Odin on computer, so the Administrator of the Those privileges are required to complete installation root

Step 4 : Note 2 Connect to computer via USB cable while still in Download mode. Wait until Odin recognises device and ID: COM box turns blue with Corresponding COM port number. This CONFIRMS device is connected successfully

Step 5 : In Odin, click PDA and choose Auto- CF-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar.md5 file

Step 6 : Ensure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are selected in Odin. Also, VERIFY Re-Partition option is unchecked

Step 7 : Double-check previous steps and click Start to being installation process

Step 8 : After root installation process completes, the phone will reboot and PASS message against a green background appears in the box on the top left of the Odin screen. You can now remove USB cable to disconnect device from computer

2 Galaxy Note GT-N7100 is now rooted on Android 4.1.2 official firmware XXDMG1 Requiring root access and apps can now be installed on the phone. Check status of root device by downloading and installing Root Checker app from Google Play Store.
