The Xiaomi Mi 5 is one of the first smartphones to hit the market with Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset 820. Although a quad-core solution, the new company has been promising superior performance to processors octa-core last generation, like Exynos 7420. in benchmarks numbers can actually confirm this superiority, but will in practice it actually materializes?
While we see many comparisons between Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon 820, Mobile City channel decided to put the race to be the new SoC Qualcomm is faster than last year’s model from Samsung. The tested model is the Galaxy Note 5 whose mission is to open a lot of games while the Xiaomi Mi 5. Both have large amounts of RAM, which should not be a problem keeping all apps, or at least most, running in the background. But who will be the winner of this duel? Check out the results below:
A common thing in many comparative involving Samsung’s smartphones is that thanks to the eight-core Exynos TouchWiz can open more quickly most applications. And this case is no exception, but it gets to be surprising to see Note 5 winning 14-0! When the RAM management is tested, that’s where it gets ugly to the side of Samsung, which usually suffers to keep more than five open apps. However, here we see the TouchWiz not disappoint on the MIUI and to win to keep the Asphalt 8 game open, while the Mi 5 had to refill it. Maybe 1 GB of additional RAM has favored the Korean phablet
Remember that the Mi 5 with 3 GB of RAM has two distinct versions:. The most basic, called Standard Edition, comes with Snapdragon 820 running at 1.8 GHz. the second keeps the clock of 2.15 GHz. Maybe if the test had been done with the Exclusive version has 4 GB of RAM the result could be different.
