The fact sheet ‘Livin’ On a High Note “does not explain everything but almost. M. Ward produced, Nick Cave, Neko Case and Justin Vernon wrote, Mavis Staples cried to heaven.

“Livin’ On a High Note ‘ He is optimistic prayer of a singer looking for new partners to the cause. This time these were, in previous albums had been Jeff Tweedy of Wilco’s accomplice.
And the result is a new album of some Alabama Shakes, inspired in all its dimensions, finished with the paving stones to cry from the pen of Nick Cave. Only by “Jesus Lay Down Beside Me” would have been worth it to cleanse your soul but “Livin’ On a High Note” does not end with fireworks generated by the guests or a song. Touching
