One of the animated Japanese series most successful of all time, “ Death Note ” will have a live-action production made by Netflix from this year.
The project already existed, but was in the hands of Warner Bros. and had the film rights and production acquired by Netflix. According to the American magazine Variety, Warner sold the live-action idea for the platform for a high value. Other studios like Lionsgate, were also in contention. Do not know the reason why Warner abandoned the production.
The project is estimated between 40 and 50 million dollars and will be based on the first three volumes of the original manga. The start of filming is scheduled for the month of June.
“Death Note” will be directed by Adam Wingard, the same “The Guest” and “You’re Next”. Being a Netflix project, it is expected that changes in the script requested by fans, as the elimination of Shinigami now be reconsidered.
Currently, the anime “Death Note” is displayed in Brazil by PlayTV, young channel available in the largest pay-TV operators in Brazil.
