Samsung explains the operation of its innovative sensor … – Tudocelular.com

Samsung always tries to innovate with each major release. With the Galaxy S4 was introduced to the public the application S Health , a companion of physical activities that is being improved with each release of the company. With the Galaxy S5, South Korea introduced a heartbeat sensor that further improves the results obtained by S Health.

Now with Galaxy Note 4 , Samsung intends to include an ultraviolet sensor. It will be the first in the market and want to help care for the health of the user. Something the company has been focusing enough today. With this sensor, Note 4 can measure solar radiation and indicate to the user what steps he should take to protect yourself and prevent skin damage and even possible serious health problems like cancer in the future.

The sensor measures the solar radiation and divided into 5 levels: low , moderate , high , too high and extreme , and users will be presented with different precautions based on the level of ultraviolet radiation from the sun

UV Index 0-2 (Low). UV Index reading of 0-2 means low danger from the sun’s UV rays for the person

Recommendations:..

  • Wear sunglasses on bright days
  •
  • If you burn easily, use a broad spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or more).
  •

  • Beware of shiny surfaces such as sand, water and snow, which reflect UV radiation and increase exposure.
  •

UV Index 3-5 (Moderate): A UV Index reading of 3 to 5 means moderate risk of harm from exposure to the sun without protection

Recommendations:.

  • Stay in shade near midday when the sun is stronger
  •

  • If you are outdoors, wear protective clothing, wide-brimmed hat and UV-blocking sunglasses.
  •  Apply sunscreen generously

  • broad spectrum (SPF 30 or more) every 2 hours, even on cloudy days, and after swimming or sweating.
  •

  • Beware of shiny surfaces such as sand, water and snow, which reflect UV radiation and increase exposure.
  •

UV Index 6-7 (High): A UV Index reading of 6-7 means high risk of harm from exposure to the sun without protection. Protection against lesions of the skin and eyes is required

Recommendations:..

  • Reduce sun exposure between 10 am and 16 hours
  •

  • If you are outdoors, seek shade and wear protective clothing, wide-brimmed hat and UV-blocking sunglasses.

  •

UV Index 8-10 (Very High): A UV Index reading of 8 to 10 means very high risk of exposure to damage. Take extra precautions because the skin and unprotected eyes will be damaged and can burn quickly

. Recommendations:

  • Avoid sun exposure between 10 am and 16 hours

  • If you are outdoors, seek shade and wear protective clothing, wide-brimmed hat and UV-blocking sunglasses.

  •

UV Index 11 + (Extreme): A UV Index reading of 11 or more presents extreme risk of harm from unprotected sun exposure. Take care because the skin and unprotected eyes can burn in minutes

. Recommendations:

  • Try to avoid going out in the sun between 10 am and 16 hours

  • If you are outdoors, seek shade and wear protective clothing, wide-brimmed hat and UV-blocking sunglasses.
  •  Apply sunscreen generously

  • broad spectrum (SPF 50 or more) every 2 hours, even on cloudy days, and after swimming or sweating.
  •

  • Beware of shiny surfaces such as sand, water and snow, which reflect UV radiation and increase exposure.
  •

Thinking about creating awareness and increase knowledge of the users, Samsung will include some statements about myths and truths on sun protection in the application.

Truths:.

  • A tan helps protect the skin against further damage from UV radiation
  •

  • A dark tan white leather offers limited protection equivalent to a sun protection factor of 4.
  •

  • to 80% of solar UV radiation can penetrate and pass through clouds, so even cloudy burn your skin.
  •

  • Water offers only minimal protection against UV radiation, and the reflection of the water can even increase your exposure to UV radiation.
  •

  • UV radiation is generally lower during the winter months, but the snow increases the reflection of rays increasing the incidence of radiation.
  •

  • Sunscreens should not be used to increase the exposure time, but only when it is unavoidable to protect stay away from sun exposure.
  •

  • Exposure to UV radiation is cumulative during the day.
  •

  • Sunburn is caused by UV radiation, which can not be felt. The heating effect is caused by the infrared radiation from the sun and not by UV radiation.

  •

Myths:.

  • A tan is healthy
  •

  • A tan protects you from the sun.
  •

  • You can not get tan on a cloudy day.
  •

  • You can not get burned while on the water.
  •

  • UV radiation during the winter is not dangerous.
  •

  • Sunscreens protect us so I can take the sun too long.
  •

  • If you make regular breaks during sunbathing you will not get burned.
  •

  • If you do not feel the sun’s rays burn your skin, so you will not get burned.
  •

We have to admit, this is the first time we feel that Samsung has added something really useful for your collection of resources for health and fitness, because nowadays the people are not taking the sufficient precautions to protect themselves from the sun , mainly due to lack of sufficient knowledge, where cases of skin cancer are increasing rapidly. Together with the UV sensor, a complete range of health and fitness resources, including heart rate sensor, must be present at the Galaxy Note 4 [SamMobile]
