Renault Captur, Nissan Micra and Ford Mustang did not come to BR – EXAME.com

São Paulo – Despite sales are not as high as before, the Brazilian market remains very attractive to automakers .

With the installation of new factories here, the Brazilian automotive industry promises to grow further in coming years. That’s why the car manufacturers have already traced their strategies, and this includes confirmation and cancellation of scheduled releases here.

The Renault-Nissan alliance has ambitious plans for the Brazilian market.

With 15 years of newly completed life in March, the conglomerate intends to expand its presence in the country, strengthening its participation in key segments of the local automotive industry and entering into categories hitherto unexplored by the marks.

To achieve these goals, automakers have set schedules of releases in the coming years. And these plans two models that were confirmed for Brazil were discarded: Renault Captur and the Nissan Note.

In the first case, why would the cost savings:. Crossover is done under the base of the European Renault Clio, that there is not time in the company’s plans, despite a unit tests have been seen in the country

Note now uses the “V”, the same as March and Versa compact, which would enable its manufacture in Resende (RJ) platform. However, the brand decided to produce a final version of Extrem concept presented at the last Motor Show in São Paulo. In this case, the reason would be strategic:. Rather than continue betting in the minivan segment, the Renault-Nissan alliance opted to bet on SUVs

Hence, the choice Extrem manufacture, which would take a segment untapped by Nissan in the country. The decision not to manufacture the Renault Captur also passes by the Japanese model, since both would be direct competitors.

The third base revealed by sources heard by Quatro Rodas is the Ford Mustang. Fundamental part of the overall strategy “One Ford”, the sports were presented in six different cities around the world simultaneously. Despite having a confirmed sale in various countries outside the United States, Brazilians will not buy it officially before 2016.
