The structure is made of plastic materials of high quality and resistance, and during the analysis have not been registered scratches or dents. In the case of a smartphone with 5.5 “screen, the size of the entire structure demonstrates that a good use of space occupied by the screen, and the very thin bezel considering it’s mid-range . Its thickness of 8.7 mm is well framed with the size and back cover with matte finish ensures good grip by hand without loss of comfort

3. – Interface, applications and features
Although the Meizu m2 note come equipped with Android Lollipop 5.1, the user interface was created by Meizu relented and is very light and complete. Flyme OS 4.5 and beyond typical features of Android also has called some unique features very nicely crafted.
demonstration of Flyme Interface Video
Even be a smartphone from China, the store HonorBuy ensures that comes with the Google services and access to the Play Store without any problems
As is shown in the video, m2 note has only one physical button with two actions, a capacitive touch and another button, which make the actions of kicking and Home respectively. This is a simplification which may seem strange, given the current trend in Android devices, however, works very well.
With respect to switching between open applications Recently, there is a button but simply to make an upward movement on the screen, from the lower edge, which immediately arises a bar with a list of all recently opened application. On the taskbar, just missing the typical button to access the settings, vulgar Android has for a long time, that has to be solved by placing it on the Homescreen.
In the power control icons is can access additional information each (eg connecting to a Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth device) without even opening any window, and for that displayed only a small pop-up. In the typical Android, this action is triggered from a long click on the icon, which immediately open its configuration in the settings.
Along with the typical file management application, calculator, notes, design, email, gallery, music, video, personalization themes, among others, there are two features that stand out:
- SmartTouch – it is a button that appears on the screen, which can be moved to any location and always gets on all contents on which can be made several movement actions trigger functionality. It is able to recognize the click of shares (reverse), double-click (close), click over (move), vertical motion (home / bar notifications) and horizontal movement (switching between applications). . The driven features can be configured to taste
- Unlock by gestures – being the smartphone with the locked and off screen, you can do various movements and trigger some actions, thus unlocking the screen being initiated their actions. The possible movements are double-tap (on the screen), slide up (unlock), slide down (open notifications), horizontal slide (switch songs) and then a set of gestures by drawing the letters c, e, m, o, s , v, w and z, choosing the application to open in each movement. All gestures work extremely well.
The overall performance is very good, considering the range and price. Many applications never open simultaneously proved a problem for the Meizu m2 note. Its 2 GB of RAM are essential and are clearly well managed and there is no typical problems of poor memory management causing delays throughout the system. Benchmark AnTuTu score was 31756, a close value of about 35500 the Xiaomi Mi 4i, which is also more expensive
4. – Cameras
The m2 note chambers are balanced, within what is expected in this range. Still, in terms of features, the camera application is very thorough, more complete than some smartphone higher range. The main camera has a sensor of 13 MP, comes with a two-tone LED flash and records 1080p at 30fps. The front camera is of 5 MP and also records video at 1080p.
The Camera application has the Auto, Manual, Beauty, Panorama, light field, Search (code capture), Slow Motion and still ability to HDR. In Manual mode, there is the manual focus capability, something rare between the smartphone . Already in the Panorama mode is only allowed to use it vertically. With regard to the general camera settings, there are few parameters to configure, where for example the resolution of photos you can only choose 3 levels without more details
The end result of images captured is good and shows that it is possible to have a good pocket camera for a modest price . Below are some examples of photos and below you can download all documents from the blue button.

5 – Verdict
The focus of the Meizu proves to be very interesting, demonstrating that it is possible to create an excellent smartphone , with good specifications and good hardware , at an extremely competitive price. The build quality, something you always want the best, is also a positive point in this smartphone , which was not in relief any weakness in its construction and finishes.
Performance in general is good, reaching around 31700 points on AnTuTu, and battery of 3100 mAh gives you a battery life of at least two days, reaching up to 3 days depending on the type of use.
With regard to the Meizu m1 note, which was released in January this year (6 weeks before), it is slightly more potent than m2 $ 40 note but also more expensive. If the Android Lollipop is not for you a priority if the slot microSD card and improved camera and some additional bands 4G LTE not make lack (m2 advantages note), then the $ 40 additional the m1 note to have a slightly brighter screen and SoC slightly more powerful may be worth it.
This is an excellent option for those looking for smartphone in the range of Moto G , BQ Aquaris or even Wiko Ridge Fab. The Meizu m2 note can be purchased at HonorBuy for $ 189.90 + shipping. Note that you can use the voucher PPLWARE to get a discount of $ 5.
